My Heart is calling to your tears
You’ll find no loss in me
No silence, numbness and no fears.
Just a Love to set you Free

-o-

Release the veil in heart and head
Without my love your future’s dead
I will protect and keep you near
Within my heart I hold you dear

-o-

Hear the voice with which I call
Within my arms you’ll never fall.
Come to me and let it go
The time is now, and this you know.

-o-

Release your hurts, let go your pain,
Call to me now call out my name.
Reach up to me and take my hand
Together in love we both will stand.

-o-

I see your tears I know your heart,
I offer a love that will never part.
I will not leave you all alone
My love and heart will be your home.

-o-

Come take my hand come home be free
Your future’s safe, safe in me
I’ve touched that heart you turned to stone
Now accept my love and be my own?

In response to a prayer for the lonely and the lost. I hope it blesses you.

His Armour

Armour of God

Armour of God

I came to you and called your name.

I whispered it in love.

It echoed through the tempestuous storms,

And shook the powers above.

-o-

In darkest dark I laid for you,

an armour – strength a glow.

A perfect fit, redemption’s glove,

That threatened powers below.

-o-

A belt so strong and full of truth.

To keep everything in place.

And on which to hang your sword and shield,

As you fight to win the race.

-o-

A breastplate strong of purest gold,

To guard your very heart.

The righteousness I give to you,

As your journey you now start.

-o-

The swiftest shoes sewn so true.

To grip and yet release.

The firmest stance, the swiftest flight.

Through the gospel of my peace.

-o-

The strongest shield, I give to you,

Against fiery darts that fly.

And though they fail and lay to waste,

On and on they’ll try.

-o-

A helmet, imperishable, snug and strong,

To place upon your head.

So you may never have to keep,

Your place amongst the dead.

-o-

A sword that’s tempered with my love,

To wield at my bequest.

So sharp and strong and yet so free,

That from it you’ll need no rest.

-o-

So  will you take this armour true,

And wear it like a glove?

And fight the fight of destiny,

Under the banner of my love?

I wrote this poem this morning. It is based on Ephesians 6:10-end (NIV) I hope it blesses you.

A Thought

A Thought

A Thought

When a thing lacks nothing,
Indeed when it boasts of nothing.
When it does not draw attention to itself by show,
but simply compliments it’s creator by it’s very being,
then and only then is it truly complete.

Such was the relationship between Christ and God.
Such should be the relationship between disciple and Christ.

There Is No Life

There Is No Life

There Is No Life

There is no life,
behind those eyes.
No smile upon that face.
Beneath which rock of pain doth lie,
the Beauty of your grace.

There is no flame
within your soul.
No warmth within your heart.
Beneath which ember may I find,
the spark your fire to start.

If you ever look in the eyes of a child so hurt, so damaged that he or she has withdrawn inside his or her self, it is a sight that I doubt you will ever forget. I know I never will.

For some 15 years I was blessed enough to be able to work with the homeless, single parent families and with folk suffering from mental illness.

In those 15 years I saw many a child of various ages about whom this poem could have be written. In truth this poem ends with a question. For me there is one eternal answer. The answer is Christ, but for me to know it is but one part of the equation. They too must know it. So we must ask ourselves, what is our responsibility in this?
